Ever since World War I, the treaty of Versailles has been keeping the peace in the world. Punishing Germany for their atrocities committed during the first World War. We took away all of their military essentials such as size, ammunition and artillery. We demoralized them with hefty fines that caused a recession to take place in the country of Germany. With all this we were sure that Germany would pose no further problems. We were wrong.

A few years after the treaty was signed, the country of Germany began to stir once more. With the rise of Adolf Hitler, Germany began to violate the treaty of Versailles by taking over the rhineland. They also increased their military forces and invaded France. Another trouble leading to the war is the Rise of Stalin and Mussolini. These two dictators look to control as much of the continent as they can, and they will stop at nothing to get it.

As the War stands now, we have yet to be involved. No we have not been harmed by any other country so far, and we will try our best to keep this country safe. Almost the entire continent of Europe is engaged in World War II. Japan has started growing restless by taking over manchuria and parts of China in order to expand their borders. Germany has invaded Poland and they have taken over France.

These events should prove that the United States of America should enter into World War II. Being one of the superpowers of the World, it is our duty to try to keep the peace in a world of violence. It will not be long before an attack is brought to our door step, we must prevent this from happening at all costs. Act upon others before they act upon us. We must go on the offensive in order for us to succeed in this war. If we do act upon our first instincts, it could mean the death of our nation.

Depression

Here in the 21st century, it is hard to believe that we could ever go through another economic depression as terrible as the Great Depression. It is somewhat possible for the stocks to crash in the manner they did back in the 1930's. However; there would be a few differences in society in the 21st century if a depression were to ever hit. We now have homeless shelters so there would be no "hoovervilles" going up. Also, the government gives out welfare checks to those who qualify, so it would be difficult for a family to starve. If my father were to lose his jobs we would have to make a few cut backs but not too many. Since both my sister and myself have jobs, so we would have to pay for our own food and clothes. My family would have to sell our cars and cut back on electricity in order to save money.
