The U.S.S. Maine has Sunk! A few days ago the U.S.S. Maine was blown up by the Spanish Navy. The attack by the Spaniards happened in the Cuban Harbor of Havana on January 24, 1898. The Spanish Navy viciously torpedoed the the U.S. Battle ship out of the blue with no real cause other than to provoke the United States into war. The U.S. did not respond positively to the attack and will most likely declare war on the Country of Spain. A wise move when you take into account that the attack took the lives of over 250 Americans. When the war comes we do not know for sure what will happen, but we do know that we will always remember the Maine.
